ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A lot of folks were getting a pie on the house Wednesday in celebration of National Pie Day .

On Wednesday volunteers like Rebecca Dakota, owner of PiePals.com, took pies to community organizations.

The staff at the Albuquerque Shelter for Domestic Violence, the ACLU and the Highland Senior Center all got some delicious pies.

"The more good pie in the world, the better," Dakota said.  Pie brings us together and lets us settle down for a few peaceful minutes, she added.

National Pie Day should not be confused with National Pi Day , the one that falls on March 14 and uses the date 3/14 to celebrates the number pi: 3.14159... .
