ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Jobless New Mexicans will be able to apply online for unemployment benefits under a new state system that will be launched in early January.
The Workforce Solutions Department said the computer system will help employers as well by allowing them to electronically submit wage reports, pay taxes and track their accounts.
It's intended to eliminate the use of mail and help those seeking benefits by going online rather than using a toll-free number.
The online system should reduce fraud like nabbing people who are collecting jobless claims and still working.
