ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The New Mexico State Fair closed for the day as midafternoon rains and flood warnings prompted concerns about public safety, according to fair officials.
The closure took effect at 3:30 and covers performances and all fair-related activities. Some events may be rescheduled during the fair which runs through Sunday, officials said.
Wednesday had been designated for discounted admissions of $2 for all fair patrons. That price, and similar discounts for midway games, single rides and some concessions, will now be offered on Thursday, a fair spokesman said.
