RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) - Another ski area is delaying its opening.  Ski Apache near Ruidoso won't be opening on Thanksgiving Day as planned.

The resort says the date has to be pushed back because of lack of snow.

Ski Apache now says it will open no later than Dec. 7.

The good news: this small window of warm weather will allow more time for construction crews to work on some $15 million worth of improvements.

Ski Santa Fe also delayed its Thanksgiving opening due to lack of snow, but Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort opened as planned Saturday.
