ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Lockheed Martin has announced more job cuts and has begun a voluntary layoff program for corporate headquarters and employees of its enterprise businesses.
About 6,500 workers are eligible for the program, three of them in New Mexico.
However, the company hasn't said how many people they are hoping to cut.
The action follows a cut of 1,500 employees in Lockheed Martin's aeronautics business, 1,200 employees at space systems and voluntary layoffs of 600 executives.
All this comes as Congress looks to limit defense spending.
