ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - More than 100 attorneys have gathered at the Albuquerque Convention Center for a day of providing free legal advice to anyone who walks in the door.

The annual Law-La-Palooza runs until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Last year 800 people attended to spend up to 30 minutes with an attorney.

The event is sponsored by the Pro Bono Committee of the Second Judicial District.

Pro bono is a shortened form of the Latin term "pro bono publico," which means for the public good. In the legal community pro bono refers a lawyer taking on voluntary work without a fee.
