Health club to fight against strip club

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque health club's battle against a strip club is scheduled to enter another round at Monday’s city council meeting.

Defined Fitness is appealing the approval by city planning officials of the club which is now open near San Mateo Boulevard and McCleod Road in northeast Albuquerque.

The Palms" gentleman's club opened for business a few days ago, but defined is continuing the fight, arguing the health club's daycare center should be thought of as a school and that the building housing the strip club is too close to other businesses.

A public hearing is scheduled for Monday’s city council meeting which gets underway at 5 p.m.
