ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A new website to report corruption is working better than anyone expected.
Some workers in the Office of Internal Audits and Investigations have been flooded with tips and are worried about keeping up.
In the past three weeks, 76 tips have come into the phone number and city website from its workers about fraud, waste and ideas to help the city do more with less.
Carmen Kavelman handles the corruption tips. Her big concern is staffing. She wants to add four more employees.
"We're struggling," said Kavelman. "We're struggling and I want to make sure we can maintain our present level of response to these tips. We don't want people to stop calling because we can't address them."
Mayor Richard J. Berry said he is working with Kavelman's department to find ways increase resources.
