RIO RANCHO (KRQE) - Homeowner's in one Rio Rancho neighborhood say that numerous shingles are flying off of their roofs.

The Attorney General's Office has received a complaint from one of the homeowners in Rio Rancho's Cielo Grande Community.

According to the shingles' manufacturer Owens Corning, Centex Homes didn't install the shingles properly.

Home video shot by Donann Martin over a period of two years shows shingles flying off of her roof.

Other neighbors told News 13 that they were having similar problems.

"They lift with a couple and if they aren't taken care of they start to lift more and more," neighbor Dorothy Morley said.

Now the Attorney General's Office is investigating the claims.

"We've told the Attorney General's Office that we would inspect these homes with the manufacturer and make the appropriate repairs," Centex Corporation said in a statement.

In the statement they also said that they stand behind the homes they build and regret the delays that occurred in this situation.

Neighbors said that Centex has tried fixing the problem, but so far has been unsuccessful.

"Centex would come out, all they would do is patch it and put more nails in the wall," Martin said. "They had been out her at least ten times in the two years I was here."

So far the Attorney General's office has only received one complaint. They are asking homeowners to come forward if they are having shingle problems, so the office can determine how widespread the problem is.

The neighborhood plans on filing a class action lawsuit against Centex Home to recoup damages.
