RIO RANCHO, N. M. (KRQE) - Intel today announced plans to trim its Rio Rancho workforce by 100-200 workers, but the people losing their jobs have yet to be told who they are.
Those employees being let go at the chip-making plant will be notified over the next two or three months.
The cutbacks are part of a worldwide retrenchment that is closing some plants and eliminating about 6,000 jobs.
The Rio Rancho plant employs about 5,200 people, according to the Intel Web site .
