Rail Runner to begin Saturday service

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The New Mexico Rail Runner Express will begin regular Saturday service starting this week.

The first northbound train leaves downtown Albuquerque at 6:20 a.m., while the first southbound train leaves the Santa Fe depot at 8:10. Later trains will start at the Belen depot.

The commuter train will charge a reduced fare on Saturdays, from $1 to $5 for a one-way ticket or $1 to $7 for a day pass.

The Rail Runner operated for three Saturdays and Sundays over the holiday period after service to Santa Fe was inaugurated last month.
