ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - No matter where you usually shop, chances are you can find a great deal on clothes by knowing when and where to look.

One of the keys to saving money is right when you walk through the door. Head straight for the bargain or clearance items.

For example at Target the See Spot Save section offers items at a $1. You can get onsies for $1 and even socks for $1 a pair."

They even have kids' hats for and kids gloves for $1.

But good deals can be found throughout the store.

One tip for bargain hunting is always to look for the cheapest stuff first, say 75 percent off, and then work your way down.

When you really look you can find some great deals like slacks for $12, jeans $7, a nice little skirt $5 dollars, a little dress for $5. 74. This is also good place to find maternity clothes, pants only.

Also check the ends of the aisles way back in the stores which often is where they put clearance items like house wares at 30 percent off."

At many stores like target, Albertsons and Smith's if you bring a new or transferred prescription into their pharmacy they will give you a gift card of $10 to $25 to be used anywhere in their store. Just look for the coupon in their circulars.

Then there are places like Kohl's that give you free gift cards. A $10 gift card arrived in the mail and is good for purchase of $10 or more. So if you spend $10.01 you can get something for 1 cent."

Another great place to look is stores going out of business, but be careful. That merchandise is nonreturnable.

Then there are places like Old Navy. Not only are their sales great, they offer credit cards for those that qualify. The more money you spend on these cards the more discounts you get for future purchases.

If you require business dress even places like Dillards are great. The key is to shop during their season-end clearances. They have them twice a year.

On recent shopping trip yielded clothes from Sears and Dillards for 75 percent off or more: a jacket tagged at $24.99 for $14 with an additional 40 percent off at a special sale, and an entire suit for $32 regular price."

And at the other end of the spectrum is Goodwill. Even if you don't like wearing used clothes it can be a great place to shop.

Many clothes there are brand new with the tags still on them because some retail stores donate their unsold merchandise here.

The key to saving is just having patience and taking time to look for the good deals.
