BOCA RATON, Fla. (KRQE) - A company that had been a major customer of Eclipse Aviation has filed for Chapter 7 liquidation nearly two months after shutting down operations.
DayJet Corp. filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 14, records show. It had $23 million in liabilities and $17 million in assets, according to its bankruptcy filing in a Delaware federal court.
Company officials said a failure to obtain capital was the main reason it stopped flying.
The company shut down its air taxi operations in September, citing financing problems and blaming Albuquerque-based Eclipse for not installing missing equipment or functionality or fix technical discrepancies.
At the time, in a message to customers, the company said it was possible the company could have received financing to resume operations.
DayJet had taken delivery of 28 Eclipse 500 aircraft before shutting down operations, and in May canceled plans to buy 70 more.
