ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Two companies have announced plans that they seek to purchase all or part of Eclipse Aviation as a federal bankruptcy judge prepares to rule on whether the manufacturer should be liquidated under Chapter 7.

Phil Friedman, who runs Harlow Aerostructures in Kansas, has created a new company called New Eclipse Acquisition LLC that he hopes can purchase Eclipse Aviation's assets should Chapter 7
liquidation occur.

Friedman says his company would begin producing jets in 2011 and will hire 400 workers immediately to improve the current jet.

Bill Herp, president and CEO of Concord, Mass.-based Linnear Air, says he has created Eclipse Services and Support LLC.

Herp says he's working with Eclipse customers to form a cooperative that would upgrade and service more than 250 Eclipse 500s.
