ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - Sky-watchers and other alert residents in southeastern New Mexico got a glimpse of a new airliner.
Boeing pilots used a runway at the Roswell International Air Center to conduct brake tests Wednesday on the new 787 Dreamliner.
City officials say the Dreamliner flew into Roswell from Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and spent the day cruising above the airport and running its landing checks.
Airport manager Jennifer Brady says it's common to see jetliners using Roswell for brake tests.
According to Boeing's website, five of the 787 test airplanes are operating. The company assembles the airplanes at a plant in Everett, Wash., and hopes to deliver the first 787 to a Japanese airline late this year or early in 2011.
