Man Arrested after DWI Accident

Albuquerque, N.M. (KRQE) - A 25 year old man was booked in the Bernalillo county jail Thursday for a drunk driving crash.
Ismael Cardenas was driving on tramway near Sandia Casino Wednesday afternoon when witnesses say he crossed into the westbound lanes and slammed into a minivan.
They say Cardenas tried to flee the scene but one witness stopped him.
Deputies say Cardenas failed a field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer test showed he was more than twice the presumed level of intoxication.
Deputies also found marijuana in his wallet.
The driver of the mini van was released from the hospital on Thursday.
