Driver hits car & ABQ landmark

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police suspect a driver who ran a red light, struck a vehicle and ended up crashing into the old Albuquerque High School building may have been drunk.

The crash happened around midnight on Friday at the intersection of Central and Broadway. The two occupants in the car were treated on the scene and were not seriously hurt.

According to police, the driver failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. One of the managers in the Albuquerque Lofts said that the building has sustained significant damage.

There were no reports of injuries to any tenants of the apartments.
