NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) — Rentech, a company that once planned a "coal-to-liquid" alternative energy product for Adams County has announced plans to sell the former International Paper property it bought in 2008.
The Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/Xxx0Os) that Rentech officials said Thursday they would be mothballing a research and development product unit in Commerce City, Colo., laying off 65 employees and putting up for sale the 450 acres it owns in Natchez.
Rentech President and CEO D. Hunt Ramsbottom said the company wants to focus more on immediate or near-term profitability.
