FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - The dedication of the Medal of Honor Memorial in Farmington drew more than 100 people who witnessed the unveiling of the landmark.

The memorial is dedicated to three northwest New Mexico residents who received the Medal of Honor for heroic acts during war: Marine Lance Cpl. Kenneth Lee Worley, U.S. Army Pfc. Jose F. Valdez and Staff Sgt. Franklin D. Miller. The event on Saturday also honored all soldiers who gave their lives and the families they left behind.

The memorial in Berg Park cost more than $26,000. The city and San Juan County contributed $10,000 each. Another $3,500 in private donations was contributed.
