Corps of Engineers gets new commander

ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A new commander has taken over the Albuquerque district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Lt. Col. Jason Williams assumed command in a ceremony at district headquarters last week.

The Albuquerque district includes New Mexico, part of southern Colorado and part of far West Texas.

It is responsible fordesign, construction, operations and maintenance for three New Mexico Air Force bases as well as civil works programs throughout the district.

Williams' previous assignments include a tour of duty in Afghanistan with the Afghanistan Engineer District; Fort Hood, Texas; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Fort Polk, La.; and Baghdad, Iraq.
