First baby born 28 minutes into 2010

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Duke City's first baby of the decade arrived at 12:28 a.m. Friday at University of New Mexico Hospital.

Nehemiah Scott Sampson weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces at birth.

Sampson was born more than a week ahead of schedule.

"I didn't think that I would make it all the way to the first," mother Jennifer Robledo said. "But it was exciting when I did, when they called out the time. It's exciting. It's gonna be a good year."

Nehemiah has a big sister, 19-year-old Ashley.
