86 open New Year with icy plunge

EAGLE NEST LAKE (KRQE) - 86 brave souls ushered in 2010 with a leap into Eagle Nest Lake during the second annual Polar Bear Plunge.

Only 17 locals took the inaugural plunge last year.

However, word got around and this year plungers came from across state lines.

The brisk bath earned each jumper a T-shirt and free drinks at the Laguna Vista Lodge.
