The Santa Fe National Forest on Wednesday will waive use recreation fees for veterans, active members of the military and their families who want to use the park's campgrounds and picnic areas.

The Fee-Free Day for Veterans Day won't apply to group campgrounds reserved online through the Recreation.gov Web site.

The forest is advising visitors to wear bright colors or blaze orange to increase their visibility, since there are some hunts going on in the forest during this time of the year.

New Mexico State Parks is also waiving all fees for veterans, active members of the military and their families on Wednesday.
