ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - There's a lot to see in downtown Albuquerque, art, music, movies and now a farm.
Mayor R.J. Berry cut the ribbon Wednesday on the new Alvarado Urban Farm.
Home builders, volunteers and students worked throughout the summer to put in 70 raised planting beds and an irrigation system on a city owned vacant lot near 2nd Street and Silver Avenue.
The city plans to hold a farmers market on weekdays.
Two downtown development committees manage the farm, but they hope to lease it out later.
