ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Imagine an elementary school without a playground.

That has been the case at Whittier Elementary in Albuquerque for several years, but that has changed.

The school removed its old swing sets when it built a new kindergarten wing.

But kids are once again climbing, sliding and swinging, thanks to new playground equipment donated by Lowe's .

Employees at the Paseo Del Norte and I-25 store initiated the effort and then volunteered their time and skills as Lowe's Heroes.
