Wind causes issues at Balloon Fiesta

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Wet weather washed out Balloon Fiesta Wednesday and Thursday morning, gusty winds was the spoiler.

All of Thursday morning's events, including the very popular special shapes mass ascension were cancelled.

Balloons were allowed to inflate for the large crowd that turned out, but even that was a challenge in the stiff breeze.

Officials are hoping two events scheduled for late Thursday, the special shapes glowdeo and the afterglow fireworks, will still take place.
