What to do when Fiesta weather fails? Plenty.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Tourists won't allow wind to ruin their trips.

Friday was the worst day of Balloon Fiesta so far. Two mass ascensions and a balloon glow have been wiped out by the weather this week.

While that hurts the vendors out at Balloon Fiesta Park, it can help other tourist hotspots.

Lightning, rain and wind made for a less than picture perfect Balloon Fiesta Friday, but it's always balloons galore inside the Anderson-Abruzzo Balloon Museum next to Balloon Fiesta park.

One group of tourists, visiting the museum from Colorado, say the disappointing weather has since been forgotten.

"I saw the first balloon that was ever made, well a replica, and I thought that was really interesting," said 10-year-old Nevea, a visitor at the museum.

Instead of stomping in puddles, a group of tourists stomped grapes at the Gruet Harvest Fest.

"It was my 80th birthday present," said Rosella Yoest while sampling a New Mexico wine.

Yoest and her daughter are visiting from Pittsburgh. She rode in a balloon on Thursday and isn't letting a little sour weather spoil her spirits.

She was delighted to try red and green chile and, of course, the wines.

"I'm a beginner with wine. I'm just in the learning stage, but I've had a good opportunity to try lots," she said.

Lots of tourists also hoped on the Rail Runner trains bound for Santa Fe to soak up the sights at the plaza.

Unfortunately tourists were turned away Friday from the Tramway on Sandia Peak , but that didn't stop a few from eating enchiladas at the base of the the mountain.

Yoest said she couldn't have asked for more from the Land of Enchantment.

"We went to the Four Corners, then we went to the Aztec ruins, and we went to some wineries," she added.

Vendors in Albuquerque's Old Town also see a thousands of tourists during Fiesta and said they hope for at least one windy day to boost their profits even more.

Other tourist top spots during Fiesta are the Zoo and Aquarium , Nob Hill , the Petroglyphs and the New Breaking Bad Trolley Tour.
