ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque is getting spruced up for its annual balloon fiesta.
Mayor Richard Berry says more than 300 residents participated in the third annual "Company's Comin' Community Clean Up."
Berry says the volunteers picked up more than 8,000 pounds of trash around Balloon Fiesta Park and city neighborhoods last weekend in anticipation of the Saturday opening of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
More than 700,000 visitors are expected to visit Albuquerque during the fiesta, which runs Oct. 6 through 14.
