ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The rain dampened Wednesday’s events at the Balloon Fiesta and that washed out the plans from some students visiting from France.
The 20 students are from Annonay, France, the birthplace of hot air ballooning.
The project, Exchanging Balloons, allows them to come to Albuquerque to learn all they can about the world-renowned high flying event, and experience American living.
In return the American students are planning a trip of their own.
”We’re going there to see what their ballooning is like later on in the summer,” one student said.
Although they did get rained out, the students were going to check out the balloon museum then hit the mall for some American shopping.
They do plan on making it to another Balloon Fiesta event this week.
