Fiesta officials say they broke record

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Balloon Fiesta officials were boasting that they broke a world record.

That they launched 345 balloons, the most hot air balloons launched in one hour.

That beats the current official record holder, which is also the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta by 16 balloons.

The previous record was set back in 2000.

Official word is expected from Guinness World Records within the next few weeks.

France launched 343 balloons in an hour earlier this year but organizers did not file their record setting launch.
