ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The race is on for 13 hot air balloons shanghaied in China to make it to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
At 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, the governor's office announced that all the special shapes are now out of China.
However, many of the balloons are stuck in South Korea or Japan waiting for connecting flights to New York or Los Angeles.
After the balloons arrive in the U.S., they will have to go through customs before heading to the Fiesta.
It is still uncertain which of the special shapes, if any, will be available to fly on Thursday.
