ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Saturday was a perfect day for ballooning, as hundreds of balloons took to the Albuquerque sky in the Balloon Fiesta's penultimate mass ascension.
The unique wind pattern known as the Albuquerque Box was not in effect for Saturday's flight, but winds were light and the skies were clear.
The hundreds of sky wonders mostly traveled northwest, landing in Corrales, Rio Rancho and West of Bernalillo.
Some balloons did a little splashing and dashing, but a great deal of the landings were soft.
