ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - New Mexico regulators have given the state's largest utility another three weeks to turn in a filing that spells out how it will incorporate renewable energy into its portfolio.

PNM was supposed to file its plan Monday, but utility spokeswoman Cathy Garber said the state Public Regulation Commission granted an extension until Jan. 25.

Garber said the utility asked for more time because it wanted to address all of the concerns that were raised by an initial filing last summer that included plans to scale back solar incentive programs for its customers.

The plan triggered a backlash from the renewable energy industry.

Garber says the new filing will be a complete overhaul of the initial proposal but declined to provide any details.
