Going green at work - simple tips

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Going green doesn't have to interfere with your work; just a few small changes can save you money and help the environment.

First off, everyone looks forward to lunch, but instead of heading out to buy something, why not bring your food in a reusable container? It saves money and translates into less garbage in the office trash can and less waste in the landfill.

After your cell phone is charged up, unplug the charger from the wall outlet. Even if it's not being used, chargers still use power from the outlet.

Think before you print! Try to only use paper when you need to and try to use recycled paper and don't forget to recycle it when you're done.

Refillable pens will save money and mean less waste.

When you leave work at the end of the day, turn off your computer; powering the computer off completely can save up to 10 times the energy.
