SANTA FE (AP) - State officials say about $37 million in federal stimulus money will be available for demonstration energy projects statewide.

Gov. Bill Richardson announced the funds Wednesday. He says the money will be available via application with the State Energy Program and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.

Richardson says this will be an opportunity for New Mexico's public entities, municipalities and counties to apply for funds designed for projects that promote clean energy and efficiency.

The application process is aimed at soliciting demonstration projects that increase energy efficiency, generate renewable energy, reduce reliance on imported energy and reduce the impact of energy production and use on the environment.
