NM food Bank sees record lines

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - With Thanksgiving only three days away, most are heading to the grocery store to stock up, but hundreds of others are heading to the local food bank.
One food bank saw more people Monday than they have ever seen before.
Hundreds lined up outside the Jesus First Food Bank on Copper northeast in Albuquerque.
Organizers say many of the people coming for help said they just didn't have the funds to make this holiday season happen.
The pastor of the Jesus First Church says being able to donate food has special meaning for him:
”I know what it's like to be without and be raising kids during the holidays and not have very much...so it's very rewarding to be able to help families at this time,” Pastor Mark Mullaney said.
Mullaney says Monday they expected to give out about 200 turkeys and food boxes to 300 families.
He believes with the long lines, their food bank will be completely empty come Thanksgiving.
