ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It's common for some not in a relationship to feel alone on Valentine's Day with constant reminders everywhere.
There are the traditional routes of meeting someone by chance, or set up by a friend. However, more and more, people are turning to online connections or they leave it up to in-town professional matchmakers.
"There's no exact formula to love, unfortunately. Maybe that is a good thing, I don't know…" says Ana Loiselle, relationship coach from the New Mexico Relationship Center.
If you're too shy to have someone set you up in person, there's always the internet, although some remain skeptical.
"It seems like it's the new way to go," says Rayna Hernandez who is currently in a relationship. "But I wouldn't trust it, a bunch of you know, people who say they're one person and it's totally not who you thought it was"
Online profile sites now practically have it customized to every person in every age group, whether you're a single parent or elderly person.
"It's all a numbers game, ultimately," adds Loiselle. "People think that you know, it's going to be one shot, they're going to go the bar or maybe they're going to go try match.com , I think you have to try all of those. I think you have to really network. I think hire a matchmaker, but don't count on that that's going to be the only place you know you're going to find somebody."
"I can see that maybe people that just go to work or only exposed to that crowd, but i don't think there's anything wrong with finding people online," says Staci Drangmeister.
