BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - A 15-year-old boy called 911 after his parents took away his Xbox as a punishment.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the teen dialed 911 on Sunday afternoon, but then hung up.
Police were sent to his Buffalo Grove, Ill., home where he asked police whether his parents could legally take away his Xbox from him. Police told him they could.
Cmdr. Steve Husak said the dispatched officers also told the teen that he should listen to his parents.
It's not known what the boy was being punished for.
There have been a number of incidents in which people have dialed 911 for inappropriate reasons. Last week a man was arrested after he called 911 looking for sex .
In April, a diner in Texas called 911 saying that a restaurant didn't give her extra shrimp in her fried rice order. And in March, a woman dialed 911 claiming that a Florida McDonald's would not refund her money after she found out the restaurant was out of chicken McNuggets.
