ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - If you have not been to the State Fair yet, Wednesday is a great day to go because it is free to get in.
This is after it was accidentally $2 to get in Tuesday.
Last week the Albuquerque Journal said it would cost only $2 to get into the fair Tuesday.
That was big mistake because it was really supposed to be full price $10.
The Journal corrected the story on Saturday but people still showed up to the fair wanting to get in for just $2 Tuesday.
At first the fair refused but then allowed people to pay the cheaper price.
When it's all said and done, that could cost the fair tens of thousands of dollars.
“The financial loss is pretty significant,” Michael Henningsen with Expo New Mexico said. “We do have some time left for the fair we do have a big weekend ahead so i don't think it's going to kill us but it is definitely going to hurt.”
The Journal is thinking about giving the fair free advertising to make up for the mistake.
