ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - KRQE's meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke took her first hot air balloon ride on Saturday.

Kristen just moved to Albuquerque from South Carolina, so she had never been in a hot air balloon. In anticipation of Balloon Fiesta, Kristen thought it would be a good idea to try to overcome her fear of heights and fly above the Duke City.

"I was surprised that the heights didn't bother me," said Kristen after her ride. "It was just so calming and relaxing being up there. I really enjoyed it. It was breath-taking and I would totally do it again.
