ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - If you have not been there yet Sunday night is the last day of the New Mexico State Fair.
While official attendance numbers will not be available until a week or so, fair officials report a healthy turnout.
The fair spokesperson says he expects the numbers to be at least slightly better than last year's for a number of reasons.
Parking was free this year and fair-goers only had to deal with just a couple of bad weather days.
“We had a new advertising campaign this year that really sort of kick-started things and just kind of a new energy from the staff, and we had lots of new attractions at the fair this year,” Michael Henningsen with Expo New Mexico said.
The midway will stay open late until the crowds dissipate, possibly well after midnight.
