Breaking Bad nears wrap in ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It's almost a wrap for the cast of Breaking Bad, the television show shot mainly in Albuquerque.

Stars such as Bryan Cranston, Steven Michael Quezada and bob Odenkirk attended a charity event at Albuquerque studios Saturday.

They joined Youth Development Inc. as they thanked the cast members for all they have done in Albuquerque.

Cranston, who plays the character of Walter White, a chemistry teacher turned meth dealer, says the show has been so successful because of its high quality storytelling rooted in New Mexico.

“It resonates, it has a place in Albuquerque, that was rooted here and then just because the show is over it doesn't mean we've pulled up the roots,” Cranston said.

Cranston says he plans to keep his New Mexico homes, even though filming has wrapped.

The final season of the show airs this summer.
