ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque teen has single-handedly organized a fundraiser to help Superstorm Sandy victims.

Alonzo Soto is a Junior at Hope Christian School in Albuquerque, during the week he's busy going from class to class and studying hard.

And these days, in his spare time he's been busy looking into ways to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast.

"I want to see people's lives being put back together. I want to see them happy again" said Soto.  "I saw the hurricane and the devastation and I really wanted to help send as much aid as possible to help them rebuild their lives."

Soto is currently a Boy Scout, earning his way up to be an Eagle Scout.  And part of that effort has been this project to organize a fundraiser for Sandy victims.

Soto spoke with the owner of Chick-fil-A on Paseo Del Norte in Albuquerque, who was on board to help with the teen's efforts.

Chick-fil-A will give 15% of the their earnings from 12 - 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, to Soto for the fundraiser.

The teen will also have a booth with a bin set up to collect clothes and other necessities for the victims.

Soto is calling it "A Flood of Hope Day" and is hoping you will help him flood the restaurant with your generosity.

The only Chick-fil-A restaurant participating in the event is the one located at 8110 San Pedro Dr. NE, off of Paseo Del Norte and San Pedro.
