ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Animal Humane New Mexico’s 30th annual Doggie Dash and Dawdle was held Sunday.

Sunday’s pet festival hosted about 4,000 people and 2,000 of their furry four-legged companions.

Participants could do a 5k or a two mile walk at Balloon Fiesta Park.

There was even a doggie carnival, as well as food and live entertainment.

Some say just getting out and enjoying the day is the best part.

“It’s great to get out and see all the other vendors see the other dogs, how people interact with their dogs…but definitely the best part is just getting to walk and getting the exercise,” Jim Beck said.

One hundred percent of Sunday’s proceeds will benefit homeless dogs and cats in Animal Humane's care.
