How can you have a person who is sick, who can and will hurt someone be put in a mential hospital where they can get the care that they need.

There is a Mental Health Involuntary Commitment law in New Mexico. A person who is determined to be a danger to themselves or others can be involuntarily commited to a mental health facility for treatment. The District Attorney's Office often handles these matters. Call the District Attorney Office and ask for the mental health commitment person. They may require you to get a letter from a doctor which states that the persoon has a mental disorder and is dangerous to oneself or others.
