I love news. I love to write. And, I love how my days are unpredictable. That's why I work in TV.
I grew up in west Texas and Wyoming. Now I've found the perfect place in between, New Mexico. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. I'll always be grateful for getting my first break at Wyoming Public Radio. My career has also taken me to KTWO TV in Casper, Wyoming and KWES TV in Midland, Texas.
In my more than a decade as a broadcast journalist, I’ve covered everything from education to politics. I traveled to Russia when I learned about the impact a local human rights group had in the country. The series later aired globally. I won an Emmy Award for coverage of the death of University of Wyoming student, Matthew Shepard. I exposed a grade change scandal at Rio Grande High School. Our coverage won the New Mexico Associated Press Award for Continuing Coverage. I also won several awards for my anchoring from the Texas Associated Press and Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.
My husband and I moved to New Mexico in 2004 and fell in love with the state. I love snowboarding in the mountains, running in the Bosque and foothills, playing golf, kickboxing, and hanging with my dog, Marley.
