Jason Auslander is the producer for KRQE’s investigative reporting team, 13 On Special Assignment.

Jason worked as the cops/courts reporter for The Santa Fe New Mexican from 2004-2010 before starting at KRQE News 13. During that time, he won numerous awards for investigative reporting and breaking news including winning Story of the Year honors twice from The Associated Press. Stories he wrote about misconduct by Santa Fe’s then-Municipal Court Judge Frances Gallegos led to her removal by the state Supreme Court.

Prior to his stints in New Mexico, Jason worked at a newspaper in Aspen, Colorado, an alternative weekly in Omaha, Nebraska and spent his first year out of college working for The Associated Press in Omaha and Bismarck, North Dakota. He also spent four years in Los Angeles pursuing efforts as a screenwriter.

Jason graduated from the University of Arizona in December 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
