Alex Goldsmith, KRQE News 13
I was always a dabbler growing up, never specializing and finding myself drawn to a wide array of interests. In fact, the only thing that was consistent was my love for journalism. I remain a dabbler as a broadcast journalist, having covered everything from crime to education to politics and even sports.
I’ve been all over the country in my short time on this planet. I was born in New York, but spent half of my time growing up in Orlando and the other half in Santa Fe. Since then I’ve lived in Los Angeles to attend college at USC (Go Trojans!), New York to intern at CNBC, Nashville for another internship at WTVF-TV and WILX-TV in Lansing, Mich. for my first job in TV, but there’s something that’s drawn me back to my roots here in the Land of Enchantment.
I’m a huge hockey fan and worked for four seasons as a play-by-play broadcaster for USC’s Ice Hockey team and for most of two seasons as the public address announcer for the now-absent Santa Fe Roadrunners. When I’m not working, I love playing pickup sports, checking out a show, skydiving and reading.
If you have a story, please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email at alex.goldsmith@krqe.com because I’m always looking for ideas.
