This Saturday, New Mexico voters will have an opportunity to hear candidates debate issues in the hotly contested New Mexico First Congressional District Representative race. The live “free form” debate will be aired on KRQE News 13 in HD this Saturday, October 30th, 2010 from 7-8pm. The televised debate will be moderated by KRQE News 13 anchor Dick Knifing. It will also be streamed online at KRQE.com, where an online chat will be hosted by KRQE News 13 anchor Dean Staley.
“The debate will follow a traditional format for the first half—equal time, back and forth questioning,” says news director Iain Munro, “and then for the second half we’ll give the candidates more freedom with an open discussion time. They’ll have the opportunity to go back and forth with each other without much time restriction. This is a tight race where both sides are taking shots at each other, and it’ll be interesting to see how they do when they’re sitting right next to each other.”
